The Battle of Atlanta at Social Circle 8 Hour Team Race
Rules/Format
We want this to be a fun event for racers and spectators. We will have ample course marshals and an observation check point. Anyone observed not on race trail will be disqualified. Whether you are racing for part of the $2000.00 Pro/AA purse or just for bragging rights with your friends we ask everyone follow the sprit of the competition and obey the rules.
Teams can have up to three members per team.
Racers can ride their own bike or share a bike with a teammate.
You must ride in the class of the highest ranked rider on your team. Example- A team with two C riders and one A rider MUST ride in the A class.
For age classes you must ride in the age class of your youngest rider. Example- A team with two 40 year old riders and one 30 year old rider MUST ride in the 30 plus class.
The race will start at 9 a.m. and end at exactly at 5:00 p.m. Riders crossing the finish line 1 second after 5:00 p.M. will NOT be scored. Some math on your part will be required toward the end of the race to determine if you can complete the last lap before time expires. Bring a stopwatch to keep track of your teammates average lap times.
If your bike breaks down or you are unable to complete your lap you must get the bike back to scoring and transfer the transponder before your teammate can start their lap. If the bike was towed back to scoring, that lap will not count.
At no time can two bikes from the same team be out on the course. Do not go looking for a missing teammate. There will be plenty of course workers and sweep riders to assist. We will do everything we can to get you back to your pits ASAP so your teammates can resume racing.
Transponders will be used for scoring. One transponder per team. Transponder will have to be transferred from bike to bike so come prepared with zip ties, pouches or other homemade carrier that will allow for the quickest transfer possible. Transponders will be available for purchase ($30) or rent ($7 plus deposit) at sign up. Laps ridden without a transponder will not be counted. It is your responsibility to transfer the transponder during each exchange. More Transponder Info
